Most of our customers assume that our removalist insurance covers accidental damage to their belongings. this is true if the removalist company has accidentally damaged your goods, then they are liable to pay for the goods damaged under our commercial insurance.
But, if the damage to your belongings has occurred outside of the mover’s control, and it is proven that they were not at fault, then your goods aren’t protected under their insurance.
To put it into perspective, imagine this. Your belongings have been packed into the truck and are en route to your new home. On the way to your new home, the truck is involved in an accident where another vehicle has crashed into it and your belongings inside the truck are damaged as a result. Because the furniture removalist was not at fault of the crash, you will need to contact the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash to reimburse you of your damaged goods… unless you are fully insured.
We recommend getting fully comprehensive insurance before you undergo your relocation so that everything is covered in case of accidents that are not caused by us.
