1. Do I need insurance to move?

Insurance for public liability, vehicle accident, fire, flood and theft are included in all our moves. However, accidents do happen when moving and we recommend arranging personal cover as well.  Any accidental damage that occurs whilst in transit is beyond our control and unlikely to be covered by our insurance. Transit insurance can be purchased from a number of online brokers. We recommend buying through www.goodsintransit.com.au as they provide comprehensive cover for a reasonable price.

2. Do you offer a packing service?

Yes. We can pack your household or office and ensure everything is ready to be moved. Please contact us on 1300 984 228 for a quote on our packing services.

3. Do you offer storage?

Yes. We offer long-term and short-term storage solutions for both large and small consignments. WA Removals can provide a secure space to store your belongings whilst you’re in-between residence. Contact us and a member from our team will be able to work with you to customise a quote that best suits your needs.

4. How long can I store my belongings with you?

We offer storage solutions from as little as one day through to long-term storage options for up to several years. Our team can store your belongings for as long as you need us to, simply contact us today for a quote.

5. Can I pack my own boxes?

Yes. If you need to purchase packing boxes, you can do so directly through WA Removals. Our team can take care of everything from the bubble wrap to the tape in order to make your moving process as easy and stress-free as possible.

6. Can you move my plants?

Yes, however if you’re moving interstate, we recommend checking the state legislation first as some states will not allow you to transport live plants across state lines.

7. Can you move my vehicles?

Yes. If you’re moving interstate, to regional WA or simply cannot get your car there yourself, we can move if for you. Please contact our team for a quote.

8. Can you move my pets?

Yes, however this can be a stressful experience for pets, so we do recommend you arrange for their transport yourself.

9. What do I need to do to prepare appliances and machinery for removals?

When disconnecting appliances and machinery, you should refer to the manufacturer’s instructions, particularly around washing machines, driers, computers, fridges and television sets. If you have the original packaging, then it is advisable to pack these items back into their original boxes.  However, our team can assist with packing the bigger items for you. We recommend cleaning them prior to the move to make the packing and unpacking a better experience.

Lawnmowers and any other gardening equipment should always have the petrol drained from their tanks. Should these go interstate, they will also need to be cleaned.

BBQ gas cylinders cannot be transported by a removalist unless a certificate has been obtained from a certified gas cylinder test station, stating the cylinder has been purged. Please never burn off the gas or release the gas. BBQs should also be thoroughly cleaned prior to move.

10. How should I prepare my fridge for removal?

If you would like us to move your refrigerator or freezer, please ensure it is empty and clean before we arrive.

11. What is your minimum booking time?

We offer a same day service. Do you need to move in a hurry? No worries, if we’re available on the day you call, we will be more than happy to help you move.

12. Do I need to be onsite at the move?

No, you are not required to be there on moving day. Although we would prefer it if you were there, we can collect nominated items if access is permitted and pre-organised.

13. How do you protect my belongings?

Before transporting any items, we will wrap them in protective coverings. All furniture items are wrapped in our furniture pads and blankets. Mattress and lounges are protected with plastic covers first and then wrapped in pads. Our team will ensure that your belongings are thoroughly tied down, securely, to avoid any damage.

14. Can I reschedule a move after I’ve booked?

Yes, however we do require 24hrs notice if you would like to make a change to your booking or move date.

15. What if there is a delay in settlement? OR what if I don’t have the keys to the new house?

Don’t stress. We understand that some things are out of your control. In the unfortunate circumstance that your move in date is delayed, we’re able to store your possessions for as long as required.

16. If I am moving interstate, how do you do this?

If you’re moving interstate, we recommend giving us a call on 1300 984 228 so we can discuss your inventory and removal requirements to provide you with an accurate quote. We will require a pickup and delivery address, along with the dates of your move. Our team will also require a 10% down deposit and the remaining balance can be paid upon pickup.

17. Do removalists have to take their shoes off before entering a property?

Not normally. If you’re worried about damage to the floors then we can lay down protective carpet runners.

18. What happens if something is damaged?

In the unlikely event that damage occurs whilst we’re moving your belongings, we will always do our best to help resolve the situation. If you have comprehensive insurance, send our team an email with photos of the damage and we will organise repairs, replacement or compensation. Even without comprehensive insurance, we will try to help and advise on the situation.

19. Can you disassemble and reassemble furniture?

Yes. If you require furniture assembly, please advise us early on so that we can provide an accurate quote. This will also provide our team with enough time and personnel to have all your furniture assembled before we leave.

20. Are your trucks fitted with tail lifts?

Yes. In Australia, it is an OH&S requirement that all removalist trucks are equipped with tail lifts and at WA Removals, we always put safety as our top priority.

21. Do you move antiques?

Yes. We’re able to move your antiques, fragile and precious items. However to be safe, we would recommend ensuring you’re covered by comprehensive insurance.

22. Will you move my piano/pool table?

Yes. We’re able to move pianos, pool tables and all other large or heavy items. We do ask that you advise us of any large, heavy and unusually shaped items ahead of time, to ensure we have the means and personnel to move them.

23. What do I do with my clothes?

Clothes can be packed into boxes or placed into PortaRobes, both of which we can supply.
